Thank you for visiting the vTLD Consortium’s website (“Website”). The vTLD Consortium is an informal, voluntary association of registry operators of generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs) and third-party providers that administer or support vTLDs.

This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for this Website. By using the Website you agree to the privacy practices disclosed below, as well as the Terms of Use.

This Privacy Policy is designed to provide you with important information about the privacy practices of the vTLD Consortium (“vTLD Consortium,” we,” or “us”). “You” means the individual using this Website, on behalf of himself or herself, and on behalf of this individual’s employer or other organization. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected and received by the vTLD Consortium through the vTLD Consortium’s Website.

Limited Personal Information. You  can access and browse the entire Website at any time without providing any personal information. The vTLD Consortium does not collect information that would personally identify you unless you choose to provide it. You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Website, in which case the vTLD Consortium may not be able to contact you. In addition, the vTLD Consortium does not share any personally identifiable information of any individual with any third party unrelated to the vTLD Consortium, except in situations where the vTLD Consortium must provide information for legal purposes or investigations. The vTLD Consortium does not give third parties access to your personal information other than as outlined in this Privacy Policy. You authorize the vTLD Consortium to send email and other communications to you once you provide your limited personal information as indicated in this Website. The vTLD Consortium collects non-personal information such as Website usage, traffic patterns, Website performance and related statistics based on the vTLD Consortium’s tracking of your visits to the Website. The Web server automatically collects the IP address of the computers that access the vTLD Consortium’s Website. The vTLD Consortium uses this information in aggregate form to understand how the vTLD Consortium’s Website is being used and how the vTLD Consortium can better serve visitors.

Forms. The vTLD Consortium’s Website contains forms through which users may provide or request information or supply feedback to the vTLD Consortium. In some cases, telephone numbers, email addresses or return addresses are required so that the vTLD Consortium can supply requested information to you. The vTLD Consortium does not provide any information supplied on the vTLD Consortium’s web forms to any outside organization for any reason (other than where the vTLD Consortium may be required to by law, or as necessary to process credit card information).

Cookies.  The vTLD Consortium may use a variety of technologies to learn more about how people use the Website and the Internet. These technologies include cookies, which are small text files that websites and other online services use to store information about users on the users’ own computers. For example, cookies can be used to store your sign-in credentials so that you do not have to enter them each time you return to a website. Cookies also may be used to store a unique identification number tied to your computer so that a website can recognize you as the same user across different visits to the website. You can configure your Internet browser to manage how cookies are enabled or to refuse cookies completely. The vTLD Consortium may use cookies to enable functionality of the Website. You should be aware that disabling cookies may affect the appearance of our Website on your device and limit your browsing experience including preventing access to some areas of our Website. The vTLD Consortium does not use cookies to serve targeted advertising.

You can delete the vTLD Consortium’s cookies at any time. The “help” section, located on the toolbar of most browsers, will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie or how to disable cookies altogether.

When the vTLD Consortium Discloses Information. The vTLD Consortium may provide personally identifiable information to other businesses or persons for the sole purpose of processing such information on the vTLD Consortium’s behalf. The vTLD Consortium requires that these parties agree to process such information in compliance with this Privacy Policy, and the vTLD Consortium uses reasonable efforts to limit their use of such information and to use other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. The vTLD Consortium does not share your personally identifiable information (such as name or email address) with other third party companies for their commercial or marketing use without your consent. The vTLD Consortium may release personally identifiable information if required to do so by law.
